Training in Tackling Physical and Mental Problem during Orientation

  • Objective: to equip students with proper knowledge and skills in tackling physical and mental problems of freshmen during orientation
  • Content: one first aid certification course and one training on tackling freshmen with emotional problems, both in July 2012
  • Number of participants: 30

The objectives of this course were to equip students with proper knowledge and skills in tackling physical and mental problems of freshmen during orientation, and to emphasize the importance of safety precaution and carefulness among hall students.

It included one first aid certification course run by Hong Kong St. John Ambulance and one training session on tackling freshmen with emotional problems run by Counseling and Person Enrichment Section from CEDARS, HKU, both held in July 2012.

Participants who had an attendance of more than 80% of the first aid certification course and passed in the examination would be given a certificate by Hong Kong St John Ambulance. They would as well receive a certificate from CEDARS if they completed the training session. There were in total 30 students participating in this course.
