Study Tour to National University of Singapore on Hall Education 2018 - Call for Application
Hall Education Development Office (HEDO) has been organizing overseas study tour once a year starting from year 2012. The ideas behind these study tours were to broaden students’ horizon, to encourage them thinking out of the box and to bring back new ideas to HKU. Student participants did get new ideas from these trips and initiated activities to tackle the problems inside the hall community, for example discussions in forums, joint-hall activities, online publication about hall education and promotion of HKU halls to secondary school students.
In 2018, HEDO is going to organize a study tour to National University of Singapore (NUS) on Hall Education:
Date of Tour: March 4 – 10, 2018 (Reading Week from Sunday to Saturday, 7 days)
Tour fee: HKD $3500 + $500 deposit (deposit will be refunded upon fulfillment of assignment)
(Tour fee includes round trip air ticket, 6-night hotel, tour bus transportation, exchange activities and breakfasts.)
Tour Highlight (subject to change) :
• Visit different Halls and Residential Colleges in NUS
• Exchange with student leaders in NUS
• Meeting with Masters and Tutors in different Halls and Colleges in NUS
• Experience the culture of Singapore, AND MORE…
Assignment:
1. Attend all events written on the schedule of study tour.
2. Form a group of 5-8 and write a 2-year curriculum on hall education for HKU halls.
3. Present your group’s work in Hall Retreat, which will be held in late March.

If number of application exceeds limit (24 students), enrolment will be done on first-come-first-serve basis. Successful applicants need to make full payment within one week after selection notification, or his/her place will be given to those on waiting list. Selected applicants will be notified by WhatsApp message.

Outstanding Hall Student Award 2016-17 --- Call for Application
In 2012 the Committee on Halls (CoH) of The University of Hong Kong established an Outstanding Hall Student Award for outstanding undergraduate hall-students to recognize and reward their exceptional academic performance and elite contribution to the hall community. The awardees would serve as role models for other hall-students to attain a good balance between academic study and hall life while accomplishing an all-rounded personal development through hall education.

Fund Raising Cycling 2017
Fund Raising Cycling is an annual charitable event organized by the residents of Simon K. Y. Lee Hall since 2005. It invites people from all walks of life to cycle around Hong Kong Island to raise funds while enjoying the fun of cycling. The coming Fund Raising Cycling will be held on 21 January, 2017. This year, our theme is “Keep The Will Moving”. The beneficiary of the event is A Drop of Life (ADOL), which has been working on water related charity projects and school reconstruction projects for 18 years.
